We recommend anglers arrive with their own fly fishing equipment, however, premium rental packages are available for those who prefer to travel light or are new to the sport. Our rental gear is professionally maintained and suitable for all experience levels.

1. Do I need prior fly fishing experience?
No. Our trips and lessons are suitable for beginners through advanced anglers. Instructions and guidance are tailored to your experience level and goals.
2. What equipment do I need to bring?
You may bring your own fly fishing equipment, or rent from us if needed. Personal items such as wader, boots, weather-appropriate clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen and hat are recommended.
3. What will I learn during a lesson or guided trip?
Topics may include casting fundamentals, fly selection, presentation, line management, reading water, wading safety, and fish handling techniques.
4. How long are trips or lessons?
Most trips and lessons range from half-day to full-day experiences. Custom trip lengths may be available. Please see our service page for packages.
5. Are walk and wade trips physically demanding?
Walk and wade trips involve moderate walking and standing in moving water. We adjust locations and pacing based on guest ability and comfort.
6. What species can we target?
Target species vary by season and location and may include, Trout (Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Bull) and Mountain whitefish.
7. Is catch and release practiced?
Catch and release is encouraged to promote conservation and sustainable fisheries. Harvest regulations vary location and season.
8. What if weather conditions are poor?
Trips run rain or shine when safe. In the event of unsafe conditions, we will reschedule or provide alternative options.
9. Do I need a fishing license?
Yes a valid Alberta fishing license is required. Guest are responsible for obtaining the appropriate license prior to the trip. Guest under the age of 16 or over 65 do not require a license in Alberta.
10. How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible to secure preferred dates.
